Inspection
1. Apply the handbrake, then jack up the front of the car and place it on axle stands.
2. Visually inspect the rubber mounts on the engine/gearbox mounts for cracks and dirt (see illustration).
11.2 Engine/gearbox fasteners.
Use a lever to determine the condition of the rubber cushions. If there is excessive movement in the mount, or if the rubber condition has deteriorated, the mount should be replaced.
Front right engine mount
Removal
3. Unscrew the nut and remove the plate from under the engine subframe.
4. Using a winch, raise the right side of the engine by 50 - 75 mm.
5. Unscrew the nuts and remove the hanger from the bracket.
6. If necessary, unscrew the bracket from the cylinder block.
Installation
7. Install the new hanger in the reverse order of removal.
Front left engine/gearbox mount
Removal
8. Using a socket, unscrew the lower mounting nut through the hole in the sub-engine frame.
9. Support the weight of the transmission with a jack, then unscrew the top nut and remove the hanger from the engine compartment. If necessary, the suspension bracket can be unscrewed from the gearbox.
Installation
10. Install the new hanger in the reverse order of removal.
Rear suspension
Removal
11. Support the weight of the engine/gearbox with a winch or jack.
12. Unscrew and remove the through bolt.
13. Unscrew the hanger from the engine subframe and, if necessary, unscrew the bracket from the cylinder block.
Installation
14. Install the new hanger in the reverse order of removal.
