Lock
Removal
1. Open the tailgate, then carefully remove the tailgate trim panel. If necessary, release the trim panel fasteners using a suitable forked tool.
2. Unscrew the two lock mounting screws and remove the washers (see illustration).
15.2. Loosen the screw securing the trunk lid lock.
Remove the lock from the door. Turn the lock as required to disconnect the drive rod.
Installation
3. Install in reverse order.
Assembling the lock cylinder
Removal
4. Remove the door trim panel as described in step 1.
5 Place your hand through the door opening and release the fastening brackets. Disconnect the lock drive rod from the lock cylinder assembly and (where available) central locking motor rod.
6. Disconnect the drain hose from the bottom edge of the door.
7. Remove the metal retaining clip from the back of the lock cylinder, then remove the cylinder assembly from the door (see illustrations).

Installation
8. Install in reverse order. Make sure both ends of the drain hose are securely attached.
Lock strike plate
Removal
9. The lock strike plate is attached to the lower body panel.
10. Release the locking pin with a forked tool and remove the cover plate from the lock striker plate (see illustrations).
15.10a. Release the retainer using a forked tool...
15.10b.... and remove the trim from the tailgate lock strike plate.
11. Remove the two now accessible mounting screws, remove the washers and take out the striker plate assembly.
Installation
12. Install in reverse order. If necessary, adjust the position of the strike plate to align the door base with the body panels.
13. Finally, if necessary, turn the strike plate adjusting screw to achieve easy door closing (see illustration 14.12).
