Remote control receiver
Removal
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. Carefully grasp the front of the receiver unit and remove it from the operating position in the hatch control panel (see illustration).
16.2. Remove the central locking remote control receiver.
3. Disconnect the wiring connector and remove the unit.
Installation
4. Install in reverse order.
Driver's door control switch
5. The switch is built into the motor assembly and cannot be removed independently.
Switch installed in the central console
Removal
6. Remove the ashtray and its cover from the central console (see illustration).
16.6. Remove the ashtray cover from the central console.
Working through the opening, push out the switch/cigarette lighter mounting plate.
7. Disconnect the connectors from the switch, then push the switch out through the top of the panel (see illustration).
16.7. Remove the central locking switch from the central console.
Installation
8. Install in reverse order.
Front door lock motor
Removal
9. Remove the lock as described in Chapter 12. Remove the bracket securing the lock drive rod to the motor rod and the lock lever (see illustration).
16.9. Remove the bracket securing the lock drive rod to the motor rod and lever - the motor mounting screw is marked with an arrow.
10. Remove the screw securing the motor to the lock assembly, then remove the motor.
Installation
11. Install in reverse order.
Rear door lock motor
Removal
12. Remove the lock (see Chapter 12).
13. Using a suitable punch, drive out the roll pin securing the motor to the lock assembly (see illustration).
16.13. Remove the roll pin securing the central locking motor to the rear door lock assembly.
14. Disconnect the motor operating arm from the lock, then carefully slide the motor out of the mounting rail on the lock assembly.
Installation
15. Install in reverse order.
Tailgate lock motor
Removal
16. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

17. Open the trunk door. Release the clamps (it is preferable to use a suitable forked instrument) and remove the door interior trim panel.
18. Working in the trunk door opening, separate the motor rod from the lock.
19. Remove the screw securing the motor to the tailgate. Press the latch, being careful not to damage the motor or the door (see illustration).
16.19. Remove the screw securing the central locking motor to the trunk lid - the retainer is marked with an arrow.
20. Remove the motor from the door and disconnect the wiring connector (see illustration).
16.20. Remove the central locking motor from the tailgate.
Installation
21. Install in reverse order.
