The thrust release bearing is installed in a backlash-free pattern.
Table 5.1. Technical data
Required special tool
- Mot. 582 or Mot.582-01 Retainer.
Tightening torques, Nm
- Bolt of fastening of a casing of a pressure disk to a flywheel: 20.
Removing
1. Fit retainer Mot 582 or Mot 582-01.
2. Turn away bolts of fastening of a casing of a pressure disk and remove pressure and conducted disks.
3. Check and replace defective parts.
Installation
1. Clean the gearbox input shaft splines and install the pressure plate assembly with the casing, without lubricating anything.
2. Install the slave drive (the protrusion on the hub must face the gearbox).
3. Center the driven disk using the mandrel included in the repair kit.
4. Gradually tighten the pressure plate housing mounting bolts crosswise, and then finally tighten the mounting bolts to the required torque.
5. Remove retainer Mot. 582 or Mot 582-01.
6. Lubricate with MOLYKOTE BR2:
- guide sleeve thrust release bearing;
- working surfaces of the clutch release fork.
7. After installing the gearbox, install the cable on the clutch release fork, the gear sector of the wear compensation mechanism and make sure that the wear compensation mechanism is in working order.
8. Check the travel of the clutch release fork. The travel of the fork should be: X = 27.4-30.7 mm.
Note. For repairs that do not require the removal of the gearbox, or after installing the gearbox, do not lift the clutch release fork as it may come out of tabs A in the thrust bearing race.
