1. Before you begin assembly, make sure you have purchased all the necessary parts and prepared all the tools. Read through all the procedures to ensure you are fully familiar with the work ahead and have everything you need on hand. In addition to the usual materials, you will need a blocking compound, liquid sealant and CAF 4/60 THIHO paste.

2. To save time and avoid problems, assembly can be performed in the following order:
  • Crankshaft.
  • Piston/connecting rod assemblies.
  • Oil pump.
  • Pallet.
  • Flywheel/drive disc.
  • Cylinder head.
  • Drive chain/belt and sprockets.
  • External engine components.
