Underhood cooling system (1764 cc/F7P engine only) — general description (Renault Clio 1)

1. The system starts to operate only when the engine is off and the coolant temperature is 105°C or higher. Under these conditions, the auxiliary water pump and fan are turned on for approximately 8 minutes. They operate throughout this time, even if the coolant temperature drops below 105°C.

2. The coolant temperature sensor for the engine compartment cooling system is located on the thermostat housing, the lowest of the three (see illustration).
