Every 10,000 km or 6 months — check front brake pads and discs (Renault Clio 1)

1. Apply the handbrake, then jack up the front of the car and support it on axle stands. Remove the front wheels.

2. You can quickly check the thickness of the lining on each brake pad through the hole in the caliper. If the brake pad is worn to the thickness specified in the Specifications or more, all four pads must be replaced as a matched set. (There are wear sensor contacts on the inner pads.)

3. For a more thorough inspection, the brake pads must be removed and cleaned. See Section 9.
