The headlights use the so-called transparent glass optics. The headlight shade is absolutely smooth and does not perform the function of distributing light flows. It is made of plastic that is more transparent and lighter than the glass shade. A layer of protective varnish protects it from minor damage (scratches).
Direction indicators built into the headlights are made without color filters; instead, lamps with glass of a certain color are used.
Fog lights. In the variant version, the cars are equipped with fog lights installed in the lower part of the front bumper. The fog lights can be turned on with the steering column switch only when the outside lighting is on.
Rear lights. The modern style headlights feature transparent lampshades for the direction indicators and reversing lights. The rear fog light is located in the left rear light. The fog light can be turned on using the steering column switch only when the exterior lighting is on.
Direction indicators. The turn signal lamps are installed in the headlights, rear and side lights. The turn signals are switched on by the left steering column switch (lamps of one side depending on the position of the switch) or hazard warning switch (all lamps at once).
Headlight beam corrector. In the variant version, the cars are equipped with a headlight beam corrector, which allows changing the direction of the headlight beam in the vertical plane depending on the vehicle load.
Helpful tips:
- If the headlights suddenly start to shine dimly, and the parking light flashes when the turn signal is turned on, restore the contact of the ground wire with the body.
- Make it a habit to change your light bulbs regularly (especially headlights). Over time, the bulb darkens, the brightness of the lamp decreases. This process occurs quite slowly, and the driver does not notice the gradual deterioration of road illumination.
- Recently, more and more cars have appeared whose headlights shine like a Christmas tree, in various shades of blue. All this is called "xenon" and is considered very cool. There is no dispute that xenon headlights, installed as standard on the latest models of foreign cars, illuminate the road much better, and the car with them looks much more impressive. It is not surprising that many are also trying to improve their car, especially since now on the shelves there are a lot of "xenon" lamps of various manufactures (most often Chinese). Don't buy into cheap stuff: these lamps have nothing in common with real xenon gas-discharge lamps without filaments. These are ordinary lamps with tinted glass. The light transmittance of such glass is significantly lower than that of standard lamps, the filaments of fakes are usually installed out of focus. A headlight with such a lamp, despite its external effectiveness, practically does not illuminate anything, it only mercilessly blinds oncoming drivers. In addition, manufacturers of such lamps, in order to compensate for the decrease in luminous flux, increase their power above the norm. Often, their installation leads to melting of wire insulation and damage to electrical equipment. It is better not to buy a "headache" for your money, but buy high-quality ordinary lamps.
