Removal the battery
Turn off the ignition.
Wait five minutes before touching any electrical terminals. During this time, information about the state of the electrical system has time to be recorded in the various control units.
Remove the screws from the bracket above the battery and remove it. Lift up the plastic cover from the negative battery terminal or remove the screws from the cover on the battery. Disconnect the negative cable. Release the lower console holding the battery.
Disconnect the positive cable (lift the plastic cover).
Release the drain hose. Remove the battery.
Installing the battery. Place the battery in place.
Install the lower console and secure with screws.
Connect the positive wire, press it down and close it with the plastic cap.
Connect the negative wire, bend the plastic cover down if necessary.
Place the plastic cover or slip cover on the battery.
Make sure the drain hose is properly connected to the battery and the outlet on the vehicle body.
Place the mounting bracket over the battery and tighten the screws.
Starting the engine after disconnecting and reconnecting the battery
Turn the key in the ignition switch. Wait about a minute, then turn the starter to reinitialize the vehicle's electronic systems. If the battery has been disconnected and not reconnected for a long time, you may need to reinitialize the following functions:
- anti-pinch protection and step-by-step control of electric windows;
- parameters for displaying functions on the information display (date, time, message language, units of distance and temperature);
- car radio frequency settings;
- settings in the navigation system;
- re-initialize the remote control;
- central lock.
Some settings will be lost after disconnecting the battery, so they need to be restored.
