Ignition Module (All Engines Except D-Series) — removal and installation (Renault Clio 1)

Removal

1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery. Release the clamps and disconnect the high tension wire from the ignition coil (see illustration).

4.1. Disconnect the high voltage wire from the ignition coil. Note the locking tabs (marked with arrows).

2. Disconnect the two multi-pin connectors from the control unit (see illustration).

4.2. Disconnect the multi-pin connectors from the ignition module. The third slot is not used on this version.

3. Unscrew the two nuts securing the control unit. Note that one of them also holds an RFI suppression capacitor.

4. Remove the ignition module (see illustration).

4.4 Remove the ignition module.

Installation

5. Install in reverse order.
