- by model range (for example, J64);
- by the installed engine, indicated on the engine plate, and by the engine index (for example, E7J 764);
- by date of vehicle manufacture;
- according to more general characteristics of the car (for example, left-hand drive, air conditioning).
The schematic diagrams show the internal circuits of simple electrical components (connectors, relays), which makes it easier to understand the system operation and diagnostics. The diagram shows:
- electrical appliances with assigned number;
- connectors marked with a letter followed by a number (R107);
- connections to "ground" designated by a letter followed by a letter or number (for example M4 or MG).
Connection diagrams with "mass"
Ground connection diagrams show the ground connection points and their locations on the vehicle.
Nomenclature of connectors
All connectors used in the vehicle's electrical wiring are listed and described. For each item in the nomenclature:
- a graphic image of the connector is given, as well as the purpose of its terminals;
- a list of electrical wires that are connected to this connector is given, indicating the pin number to which each wire should be connected;
- cross-section of each wire;
- the purpose of each wire.
Wire colors
The following colors of wire are used in basic electrical circuits.

For other circuits and connectors, wires of other colors are also used: white, blue, beige, gray, yellow, black, orange, red, pink, green, purple, as well as transparent wires.

Starter "+" circuits, alternating connections to "ground", circuits with polarity changes do not belong to the main electrical circuits.
Presence or absence of circuit protection devices (fusible and bimetallic fuses) does not affect the applicability of electrical wires.
The colour coding of electrical wires on electrical equipment supplied as spare parts does not always comply with the above rules.
