As a rule, the fuel system does not need to be bled, even if the fuel tank has been completely emptied or parts of the fuel system have been replaced. Air is removed from the system automatically when the engine is started.

However, if automatic bleeding of the fuel system is not performed, it is recommended to do the following, observing the rules and requirements of cleanliness when working with the fuel system:
  • a) bleed the fuel filter using the manual bleed lever, see the relevant chapter;
  • b) Loosen the fuel lines on all injectors one by one and engage the starter. As soon as fuel starts to flow out of the loosened connection, tighten the fuel line again with a force of 25 Nm;
  • c) collect the leaked fuel with a rag.

Caution! Make sure that diesel fuel does not come into contact with the cooling system hoses. If it does, remove the fuel immediately and wipe the hose thoroughly.
