Attention! This procedure shows how to remove the electric motor only.


Removal



1. Wet the windshield with water.

2. Turn on the windshield wiper and let it run for a short time. Turn off the wiper. The wiper blades should return to their original position.

3. Disconnect the negative (-) cable terminal from the battery.

Warning! This will erase some data from the memory of the storage devices, for example, the access code that prevents unauthorized use of the radio receiver will be erased. Before disconnecting the battery, please read the instructions in the chapter "Removal and installation the battery".


The windshield wiper motor is located in the gutter box near the battery (see arrow in illustration 41.0).

4. Mark the position of crank 4 on the axle with a marker so that during assembly it can be installed in its original place, and remove the crank from the axle by unscrewing nut 5 (see illustration).

5. Unscrew the three bolts 6 securing the electric motor and remove it, removing the brush holder drive levers (see illustration 41.4).

Installation



6. Connect the brush holder drive levers to the electric motor. Do not connect the crank.

7. Connect the negative (-) terminal of the battery cable.

8. Connect the power plug to the electric motor and make sure the electric motor is in the park position or set it to this position before installing the crank.

9. Replace the crank, following the marks made before removal. Tighten the crank mounting nut to 25 Nm.

10. Place and secure the fairing grille halves in place.

11. Set the clock and program the radio.
