Removing
Vehicles without air conditioning
Attention! For vehicles with air conditioning, unscrew the power steering pump drive belt pulley, and then unscrew the three pump mounting bolts located behind the pulley. The pump is attached to the bracket with these bolts.
1. Remove the ribbed belt.
2. Clamp the hydraulic booster hose with a clamp, for example, HAZET 4590-2, at point A to prevent hydraulic fluid from flowing out of the reservoir (see illustration).
21.2 Pinch the hydraulic booster hose with a clamp, e.g. HAZET 4590-2, at point A to prevent hydraulic fluid from flowing out of the reservoir
3. Disconnect the supply hose and high pressure hose from the pump by loosening the clamps.
4. Unscrew bolt D with a wrench (see illustration 21.2).
5. Remove bolts B and C (see illustration 21.2).
6. Remove the pump.
Installation
7. Install the pump in place and secure it with bolt B, and only then screw in bolts C and D (see illustration).
8. Connect the supply and discharge hoses and secure them with clamps.
9. Remove the clamp that pinched the reservoir hose.
10. Lay the ribbed belt and tighten it.
11. Add hydraulic fluid to the reservoir and bleed air from the steering by slowly turning the steering wheel from lock to lock, see the relevant chapter.
