To replace the exhaust pipe and catalytic converter, follow these steps:.

1. Measure the distance between the marks (it should be 80 mm).
Note.
The marks are located between the catalytic converter and the vibration damper (under the gearshift lever).

2. Mark the middle of the distance between the marks...

3. ...and make an additional mark with a felt-tip pen
Warning.
Place a screen made of fireproof and heat-resistant material between the pipe and the bottom of the car.

4. Cut the pipe along the additional mark you made.

5. Unscrew the two nuts securing the intake pipe...

6. ...and remove the springs.

7. Clean the exhaust manifold flange from the remains of the old gasket.

8. Remove the pipe bracket from the cushion (see "Replacing the exhaust system suspension cushions") and remove the exhaust pipe assembly with the catalytic converter.
Warning: Do not knock on the catalytic converter housing. The active mass of the catalytic converter core, which withstands high operating temperatures, is very fragile under mechanical impact.
9. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal. Install a new gasket between the exhaust manifold and the inlet pipe. Connect the exhaust system components with special commercially available compression couplings.
The additional and main muffler are replaced in the same way.

To replace the main muffler, you need to cut the system between the marks located near the left spring of the rear suspension; to replace the additional one, you need to cut the system in two places:

- 1) between the catalytic converter and the vibration damper (under the gearshift lever);

- 2) near the left spring of the rear suspension.

If necessary, remove the vibration damper from the old section of the exhaust system...

... for which it is necessary to unscrew two mounting bolts and install it on a new section.
