1. Remove the rear door trim (see "Removal and installation the rear door trim").
2. Remove the rod by disconnecting it from the switch lever.
3. Turn the switch lock counterclockwise...
4. ...take it off...
5. ...and remove the switch cylinder from the tailgate.
6. Install the tailgate lock switch in the reverse order of removal.
Note: Before installation, lubricate the switch cylinder with silicone grease.
