External mirror
Removal
1. On models equipped with power mirrors, disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Carefully pry the exterior mirror mounting screws away from the front edge of the door using a screwdriver (see illustration).
18.2. Remove the trim panel from the outside mirror mounting screws.
3. On models equipped with mechanical mirrors, unscrew the three now accessible screws securing the regulator housing. Loosen the set screw securing the regulator lever to the housing and remove the housing from the door (see illustrations).

18.3b. Loosen the adjuster lever clamp screw - mechanical mirror.

4. On models equipped with power mirrors, remove the two screws securing the mirror trim to the door, then disconnect the wiring connectors (see illustrations).

18.4b. Remove the trim to access the wiring connector.
5. Use a screwdriver to pry the plastic plug away from the front edge of the door to access the lower mirror mounting nut (see illustration).
18.5. Remove the lower mirror mounting nut cover.
6. Unscrew the three mirror mounting nuts and remove the mirror from the door. On models with manual mirrors, remove the mirror by passing the adjuster cable and lever through the opening in the door (see illustration).
18.6 Remove the mechanical mirror assembly.
Installation
7. Install in reverse order. On models equipped with power mirrors, proceed as follows when installing the adjuster lever into the housing.
8. Push the regulator into the housing until the rear tab of the regulator fits into the groove in the housing and the front of the regulator is flush with the end of the housing (see illustration).
18.8. Make sure that the rear lug (marked with an arrow) the regulator fell into the groove of the casing.
Install and tighten the clamping screw.
Replacing the outside mirror glass (secured with a wire fastener)
Removal
9. Using a thin screwdriver, carefully locate the ends of the wire retainer holding the glass under the edge of the mirror glass.
10. Grab the glass.
11. Push one end of the clip toward the center of the mirror and then into the mirror housing to release the glass (see illustrations).
11/18. Release the locking mechanism...
18.11b.... and remove the mirror glass.
Don't drop the mirror glass.
Installation
12. Position the metal retainer with the tabs facing the back of the glass, then push the glass into position until the retainer snaps into place securely.
Replacing the outside mirror glass (secured with a locking ring)
Removal
13. Insert a thin screwdriver into the hole in the base of the mirror housing and feel for the serrated portion of the locking ring that secures the glass.
14. Carefully turn the locking ring with a screwdriver to release the glass.
Installation
15. Install the glass into the mirror housing using the four guides ("C") (see illustration).

16. Insert a screwdriver into the hole in the mirror housing and turn the locking ring in the opposite direction to that used for removal.
Power mirror switch
17. The switch is located in the armrest of the driver's door, next to the electric window switches.
18. The procedure is similar to that described in Chapter 17 for electric window switch.
Electric mirror motor
19. The motor is not sold separately from the mirror. If it is faulty, the mirror assembly must be replaced.
Interior mirror
Removal
20. The mirror can be removed by gently pulling it out of the ball joint on the mounting bracket attached to the windshield.
21. The fastener is attached to the glass with a special glue and should not be removed unless absolutely necessary - there is a risk of breaking the glass.
Installation
22. Install in reverse order.
