Attention! If a new control unit is installed, contact a RENAULT workshop for programming and coding. This requires a scan tool to enter the required data, such as the anti-theft code or transmission type.
Removing
Before removing the control unit, it is recommended that you contact a RENAULT workshop to read the data from the self-diagnosis memory unit and print out this data. With this data, you can determine the cause of the malfunction.
1. Disconnect the wire terminal «masses» (-) from the battery.
Attention! This deletes data from the memory devices, for example, the security code of the radio. Before disconnecting the battery, please read the chapter «Battery - removal and installation».
2. Remove 1 rubber clamp from the control unit (see illustration). For vehicles with a 2.0 liter engine, the control unit must be disconnected from the bracket by unscrewing the mounting bolts. The control unit is located in the engine compartment near the right wheel arch.
