2.0 Sample fasteners: 1 - band clamp; 2 - electrical tape; 3 - clamping clamp; 4 - clamping clamp; 5 - clamp with a hole for fastening; 6 - protective (insulating) hose; 7 - self-adhesive foam tape
If necessary, the newly laid wires, in order to avoid the appearance of noise during movement, as well as to exclude their chafing, additionally secure with electrical tape, plastic mass, tape clamps, etc. In this case, special attention must be paid to ensure that there is a distance of at least 10 mm between the brake pipes and the fixed wires. The distance between brake lines and lines that vibrate with the engine or other parts of the vehicle must be at least 25 mm.
When drilling holes on the body for the installation of additional electrical equipment, the edges of the holes must be deburred, primed and varnished. Remove falling chips immediately.
For any work related to the laying of electrical wiring, to prevent a short circuit, be sure to disconnect the wire terminal from the negative pole of the battery «masses» (-) and put it away from the place of work.
Attention! Disconnecting the battery turns off some electrical devices, such as the radio or clock, or clears information recorded by the self-diagnosis unit of the engine management system, automatic transmission anti-lock system (ABS). For specific guidance on this subject, see chapter «Removing the battery».
If additional current consumers are installed, it must be checked in each case whether the existing alternator can withstand the additional load. If necessary, install a more powerful generator.
