The central locking system of RENAULT MEGANE vehicles consists of actuators on the door locks, trunk lid and fuel filler flap, as well as an infrared receiver on the interior lighting panel. The decoder above the main fuse box checks the received signal and switches on the actuators.
Opening and locking of the doors is done with the remote control. The doors can be locked and opened with the key. This does not change the functioning of the central lock.
If one of the doors does not lock or open, then, as a rule, the reason lies in the malfunction of the actuator motor. In this case, you should remove the door trim and disconnect the actuator motor from the door lock, and then check it, as well as the condition of its wires.
The infrared signal receiver is located on the interior light panel.
Removal the receiver
1. Move cover A forward and disconnect the plug underneath (see illustration).
