For independent minor repairs of tubeless tires on the road, there are special kits available for sale.
The kit includes a special needle, a rasp, a container with glue, a knife, and a tourniquet for filling punctures.
1. Inspect the tire and locate the damaged area.
2. Remove the foreign object from the tread.
3. Use a rasp to process the inner surface of the hole. After processing, the surface will be cleaned of dirt, rust and its edges will be smooth.
4. Remove the protective film from the pieces of tourniquet from the kit...
5. ...and separate the tourniquet from the backing.
6. Pass the end of the tourniquet through the eye of a special needle...
7. ...and stretch to the middle of the segment.
8. Apply a layer of glue from the kit to the tourniquet. Also treat the surface of the hole in the tire with glue.
9. Insert the tip of the needle into the hole.
10. Press the needle handle to push the tourniquet into the hole so that both ends of the tourniquet, approximately 10 mm long, remain outside.
11. Pull the needle out of the hole quickly.
12. Cut the ends of the tourniquet remaining on the surface to the level of the tread.
13. Wait for the time specified in the instructions supplied with the repair kit for the adhesive to polymerize, and bring the tire pressure up to the recommended pressure.
The described repair method does not replace professional repair in specialized workshops. It is only a way to solve the problem that has arisen on the road and safely complete the journey. However, in many cases, after a high-quality independent repair, you can use the wheel for as long as you like.
