Removing
Vehicles with a 1.4 liter petrol engine (E7J)
1. Unscrew the bolts 5 securing the air filter housing (see illustration).

2. Disconnect the fresh air intake hose 1 and the warm air hose 2, loosening the clamps first (see illustration 6.1).
3. Remove a rubber collar of fastening of an inlet branch pipe.
4. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the bottom of the air filter housing.
5. Remove the air filter box.
Vehicles with a 1.6 liter petrol engine (K7M) and with diesel engine
6. Unscrew the two bolts securing the air filter box (see arrows in illustration).

7. Disconnect the fresh air intake hose 1 and the warm air hose 2, if present, loosening the clamps first (see illustration).

8. Disconnect, if necessary, holder 3 of the air filter housing (see illustration 6.7).
Vehicles with a 2.0 liter petrol engine
9. Unscrew the two bolts securing the air box, air filter (see the top two arrows in the illustration).

10. Disconnect the air hose (see bottom arrow in illustration 6.9), by loosening the clamp.
Installation
11. Cars with a 1.4 liter engine. Connect the crankcase ventilation hose to the bottom of the air filter.
12. Put the air filter box back in place, first laying the seal 4 (see illustration 6.1). Replace the damaged gasket with a new one.
13. Secure the inlet pipe to the holder with a clamp.
14. Connect the intake hose and warm air hose and secure with clamps.
15. Screw in bolts of fastening of a box of the air filter.
Removing
Vehicles with a 1.4-/1.6-liter petrol engine (K4J/K4M), with body «sedan» and SCENIC vehicles
16. Disconnect the vacuum brake booster low pressure hose from the intake manifold
SCENIC cars
17. Remove the levers of the glass cleaner brush holder, see the relevant chapter.
18. Remove the drain cover by unscrewing the mounting bolts.
19. Release the dividing wall between the engine compartment and the drain box from the fasteners and remove it.
20. Cars with a body «sedan». Unscrew the bolts securing the protective wall of the gutter box A and remove it (see illustration).

21. Unscrew the bolts and remove the regulator 1 (see illustration).

22. Disconnect the adsorber hose 2 (see illustration 6.21).
23. Open the air filter cover and remove the replacement filter element. To do this, unscrew the bolts securing the cover.
24. Disconnect the air hose from the filter housing.
25. Unscrew bolts 3 and remove the air filter box (see illustration 6.21).
Installation
26. Put the air filter box in place and secure with bolts.
27. Connect the air hose to the filter and secure it with a clamp.
28. Put the replaceable filter element in the filter box and close it with a cover, which is fixed with two bolts.
29. Connect the canister hose and screw on the regulator.
30. Cars with a body «sedan». Replace the protective wall of the gutter box and secure it with bolts.
SCENIC cars
31. Insert the dividing wall between the engine compartment and the drain box into the holders.
32. Install the gutter box cover and secure it with bolts.
33. Reinstall the levers of the glass cleaner brush holders, see the relevant chapter.
34. Connect the low pressure hose of the vacuum brake booster to the intake manifold.
