Examination
If the brake lights do not light, check the appropriate fuse first. Then check the brake light bulbs. If they are in order, then check the brake light switch. To do this, disconnect the brake light switch plugs and connect the wires to each other by turning on the ignition. If in this case the brake lights will burn, then the switch should be replaced.
Removing
The brake light switch is located at the top, above the brake pedal (see arrow in illustration 14.0).

1. Turn on the ignition.
2. Disconnect the brake light switch plug.
3. Unscrew the switch, holding it by the housing.
Installation
4. Replace the switch in the pedal bracket. Do not press the brake pedal while doing this. The switch will automatically move into position.
5. Turn on the ignition and make sure that the brake lights come on even with slight pressure on the brake pedal.
